Abstract
Pregnancy, due to the diversity of lifestyle changes it leads to, may represent a period characterized by intensified stress. Women of childbearing age are at the highest risk for a number of health difficulties and complications, including glucose abnormalities. Such an occurrence often has a set of complex consequences for both the mother and the newborn. We aimed to examine how mindfulness and metacognition interact with HbA1c levels during pregnancy characterized by Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). One hundred pregnant women with GDM and ninety-eight healthy pregnant women were enrolled in the study. Average blood glucose levels were assessed by HbA1c monitoring. Participants completed the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), DSM-5 Level 2-AnxietyAdult measure (DSM-5 Anxiety), Five-Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), and Metacognition Questionnaire-30 (MCQ-30). A negative correlation was found between HbA1c and FFMQ "Describing" subtest, while a positive correlation was obtained between HbA1c and MCQ-30 "Negative beliefs about uncontrollability and danger" subtest. Multiple linear regression showed an association between Mindfulness Describing subtest and HbA1c as an outcome variable. Findings imply the association between mindfulness and HbA1c during pregnancy period. Mindfulness cultivation seems to be relevant in emotional and cognitive processes in order to minimize negative stress related effects on well- being during pregnancy. Such approach may be beneficial in promoting treatment compliance among pregnant women with diabetes, but also among women experiencing low prenatal well- being.

Abstract
Despite the well-known undesired effects of problematic social networking sites (SNSs) use, the studies performed with the psychiatric population are still scarce. The objective of this research is to discover whether problematic SNS use affects symptom severity among patients with anxiety disorder (AD). One-hundred patients with AD and 100 healthy controls (HCs) participated. State-trait anxiety inventory (STAI) and social media addiction scale (SMAS) were administered. In order to reveal the associations between SNSs use and anxiety symptoms, Pearson correlations and linear regression analyses were performed. According to our results, the state and trait anxiety were positively correlated with virtual communication scores among AD patients. HCs' trait anxiety was associated with both SMAS subtests; however, the state anxiety was not in a relationship with problematic SNSs use. Our study demonstrated the negative effects of problematic SNS use on AD. The clinicians should consider SNSs use patterns while managing the treatment of AD.

Abstract
The problematic use of social networking sites (SNS) is associated with several psychiatric disorders. This behavior closely resembles addiction in terms of neurological basis and behavioral patterns. Nevertheless, successful intervention strategies and the etiology of problematic SNS use are not yet thoroughly investigated. We aimed to study whether desire thinking is associated with problematic SNS use among adults when controlling for some confounders, including boredom, affect, and impulsivity. With the help of convenience sampling, we enrolled 546 Turkish adults in this study to whom we administered a sociodemographic form, the Social Media Addiction Scale (SMAS), the Leisure Boredom Scale (LBS), the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11), and the Desire Thinking Questionnaire (DTQ). To explore the association between the variables, we performed Pearson correlational and hierarchical regression analyses. The results showed that higher scores on two sub-dimensions of desire thinking, namely verbal perseveration and imaginal prefiguration, were associated with higher scores on problematic SNS use after we controlled for boredom, affect, and impulsivity. This study demonstrates that desire thinking may play a role in problematic SNS use among adults. We recommend targeting desire thinking as a potential area in treatments which may help alleviate problematic SNS use.

Abstract
Introduction: Even though an increase in the number of hospital admissions for manic and depressive periods at certain times of the year is reported in bipolar disorder (BD), mood symptoms do not show a seasonal variation. We aimed to find out the possible causes of increased hospital admissions of BD patients in certain periods of the year.
Methods: The study was carried out in four centers in Turkey. The patient group consisted of 41 persons with a diagnosis of BD in remission. The healthy control (HC) group consists of 37 persons. The selected evaluation times are fall equinox (September 23), spring equinox (March 21), summer solstice (June 21) and winter solstice (December 21). For mood symptoms, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and Young Mania Rating Scale; for functioning Functioning Assessment Short Test; for neurocognition Stroop Test (ST) and Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), for biological rhythm Biological Rhythms Interview of Assessment in Neuropsychiatry, and Seasonal Pattern Assessment Questionnaire were used.
Results: In terms of mood symptoms no seasonal variation was found. Across all four periods of assessment of BD group, statistically significant variation was only observed in the instant recall, learning and recognition domains of RAVLT and word test and color test domains of ST; however, it was not sufficient to distinguish the BD group separating from the control group.
Conclusions: In terms of mood symptoms, psychosocial functionality, biological rhythm, neurocognition, no seasonal variation was demonstrated that could distinguish the BD group from the HC group.

Abstract
Objective: Cognitive dysfunction is one of the core components of major depressive disorder (MDD). It is estimated that two-thirds of patients diagnosed with MDD have cognitive deficits. Cognitive symptoms are pervasive and affect functioning in several domains. This 16-week prospective case-control study aimed to assess the change of mood and cognitive symptoms during treatment.
Materials and Methods: Ninety-eight patients with MDD and 113 healthy controls (HCs) participated in the study. The MDD group was evaluated 6 times (baseline, 2nd, 4th, 8th, 12th, and 16th weeks). For mood symptoms, the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale was used, and for neurocognitive functions, the Perceived Deficits Questionnaire-Depression was used, and the Digit Symbol Substitution Test was administered to both groups.
Results: At baseline, compared with the HCs, the neurocognitive function of patients with MDD was worse. From the 8th to the 16th week assessments, in both neurocognitive tests, the cognitive functions of patients with MDD had improved. Despite this improvement and the patients achieving remission, the patients' cognitive performance did not improve to the level of the HC group at the 16th week.
Conclusion: Our longitudinal research revealed that even though mood symptoms decreased and patients with depression did achieve symptomatic remission, their cognitive deficits perpetuated.

Abstract
Background: The impairments in metacognitive functions and emotion recognition are considered as liable factors in anxiety disorders. Aims: The better understanding of these cognitive abilities might lead to develop more accurate treatment methods for patients who suffer from anxiety. Methods: Forty-four patients with panic disorder (PD), 37 individuals with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and 44 healthy control (HC) were participated in our study. Metacognition questionnaire-30 (MCQ-30), Reading The Mind From The Eyes Test and symptom severity tests were administered. Results: Statistical analyses estimated the dysfunctional metacognitive beliefs and disrupted emotion recognition in patients relative to HC. The 'need to control thoughts' aspect of metacognitive beliefs was accounted for symptom severity in GAD. Improper metacognitive beliefs were significantly predicted the PD and GAD. In addition, impoverished emotion recognition predicted the GAD. Conclusions: Our study revealed the role of inconvenient metacognitive beliefs and distorted emotion recognition in PD and GAD. These findings might facilitate the treatment management in cognitive therapies of anxiety disorders via pointing out more reasonable targets across improper cognitive fields.

Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to demonstrate the reliability and validity of the Turkish Form of DSM-5 SelfRated Level 1 Cross-Cutting Symptom Scale Adult Version which is developed according to DSM-5 criteria to measure the severity of general symptomatology. Methods: This research was carried out with patients and their relatives who fulfilled the criteria of any psychiatric disorder according to DSM-5 criteria in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric clinics of Manisa Celal Bayar University, School of Medicine and healthy control group without any mental or physical disease. Accordingly, the distribution of psychiatric diagnosis of the patients were as follows: 39 patients with major depressive disorder, three patients with panic disorder, two patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, four patients with schizophrenia, two patients with schizoaffective disorder, seven patients with BTA anxiety disorder, two patients with conversion disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder in one patient. Beside Level 1 Cross-Cutting Symptom Scale, the most widely used for general semptomatology self-rated scale, Symptom Check List-90-Revised Form (SCL-90-R) was used for concurrent validity. In reliability analysis internal consistency coefficient and item-total correlation analysis; in validity analyses exploratory factor analysis and correlation analysis with the SCL-90-R and subscales was performed for validation. Results: This research was carried out with 206 volunteers. 61.2% of the sample group (n= 126) were female and the mean age of the study group was 35.1 +/- 11.2 years. 29.6% of the group were college graduates, 36.4% primary school graduates, 7.8% middle school graduates and 23.3% were also high school. The internal consistency of the Level 1 Cross-Cutting Symptom Scale was 0.94 and, item-total score correlation coefficients of the Level 1 Cross-Cutting Symptom Scale were between 0.30-0.79. In the exploratory factor analysis, for sample adequacy Kaiser-Meier-Olkin (KMO) coefficient was calculated as 0.92 and Bartlett coefficient was 3007.76. Three-factor solution was obtained, representing 60.8% of the total variance. In the analysis of the correlation between the subscales of SCL-90-R and subscales of the Level 1 CrossCutting Symptom Scale were as follows; for depression r= 0.72, for anxiety r= 0.80, for somatization r= 0.72, for psychosis r= 0.70, for obsessive compulsive symptoms r= 0.68, for personality r= 0.72, for suicide r= 0.53, for sleep r= 0.76, for anger r= 0.64 and for the total score r= 0.87 was obtained. Conclusion: These findings show that the Level 1 Cross-Cutting Symptom Scale is reliable and valid for Turkish.

Abstract
Objective: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of the leading causes of disability and poor quality of life, with impairment in many areas. It can also adversely affect family members and friends that the person lives with, and this results in a burden. We aimed to evaluate the disease burden in caregivers of patients with OCD and the factors that negatively affect caregiver burden.
Method: The study population consisted of 94 patients with OCD and their caregivers. The Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (YBOCS), the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire Brief Form were filled out by the patients, and the Burden Assessment Scale (BAS) by the caregivers.
Results: Longer duration of treatment, higher YBOCS obsession and compulsion scores of the patients, and lower environmental quality of life dimension scores of the patients were found to increase the BAS scores of the caregivers. Additionally, these variables were found to be significant predictors for disease burden (BAS score) (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Our study revealed that many variables affect burden, even in caregivers who have no extra burden (who has no disease to cause a burden). Caregivers of patients with OCD should be included in the behavioral and pharmacologic treatment process for the benefit of both the OCD treatment management and the protection of family health.

Abstract
Objective: Major depressive disorder is the leading cause of non-fatal burden, and disability in adulthood. Even though depression is well-treated in the acute term, psychosocial functioning does not get back to the premorbid level most of the time. In this present study, it is aimed to evaluate the outcome of the acute term treatment of major depressive disorder in terms of psychosocial functioning.
Methods: The study is an open-label, observational, multi-center follow-up study for four months of patients with major depressive disorder according to DSM-5. Patients were evaluated with Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS), Sheehan Disability Scale (SDS) and Short Form-36 (SF-36) at the beginning, and at the 2., 4., 8., 12. and 16.weeks.
Results: 100 patients were invited to the study and 56 patients completed the study. As a result of the treatment, the mean MADRS and SDS scores decreased significantly. All domains of SF-36 were improved significantly with the treatment. Unfortunately patients suffering from MDD could not reach the normative data, especially on the domains of social functioning, role emotional, pain, and general health perception. Treatment outcomes show that SNRI users presented higher scores on the domains of pain and physical functioning. However SSRI users showed better outcomes on the domains of mental health and vitality.
Conclusion: Our research corroborated that even patients gain symptomatic remission in MDD treatment, psychosocial dysfunction persists. It is also concluded that different antidepressant options may act differently on treatment outcomes.

Abstract
Objective: This study demonstrates the reliability and validity of the Turkish Form of Acute Stress Symptoms Scale which was developed according to DSM-5 criteria to measure the severity of acute stress disorder. Methods: This research was carried out with the patients who fulfilled the criteria of any stress related disorders according to DSM5 criterion in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric clinics of Celal Bayar University, School of Medicine. Except for acute or post-traumatic stress disorders, patients with any other mental or physical disease were excluded. Fifty patients were included in the study. As the control group, 150 volunteers without any mental or physical diseases were invited. Beside Acute Stress Symptoms Scale, Peritraumatic Dissociative Experiences Questionnaire (PDEQ) which is the most commonly used self-rated instrument to rate the experience of recent trauma is utilized for concurrent validity. In reliability analyses, internal consistency coefficient and item-total correlation coefficients were calculated. In validity analyses, factor analysis and correlation analysis with PDEQ were performed. Results: The mean age of the study group was 32.1 +/- 12.0 years, and 57.7% of the sample group (n= 116) were female. 31.3% of the group were college graduates, 36.3% primary school graduates, 29.9% is high school graduates. Disease duration in acute stress disorder group was 4.08 +/- 4.57 years. For the internal consistency of Acute Stress Symptoms Severity Scale, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was found to be 0.95. Item-total score correlation coefficients were between 0.76 and 0.88 and all were statistically significant. For the exploratory factor analysis, sample adequacy was tested, Kaiser-Meier-Olkin (KMO) coefficients was 0.91 and Bartlett coefficient was 1388. Single-factor solution was obtained and the eigenvalue was 5.40, representing 77.8% of the total variance. Factor loadings of the items were between 0.82-0.92. The coefficient of correlation analysis with PDEQ was calculated as r= 0.88. Area under the curve is found 0.99 as the result of ROC analysis. Conclusion: With these findings, it is shown that the severity of Acute Stress Symptoms Scale is reliable and valid for Turkish.

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Studies on the role of microRNAs (miRNA) in anxiety disorders are limited. We aimed to determine the availability of miRNAs as biomarkers in serum and to demonstrate the changes of miRNAs expression in patients with panic disorder (PD). METHODS: Thirty-five patients with PD and 35 healthy controls (HC) were evaluated with Structured Clinical Interview for DSM Disorders-I (SCID-I) and Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS). In each group miRNA expression analysis was performed in venous blood by the Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) method for genetic evaluation. RESULTS: Compared with the HC group, eight miRNA expression levels were found different in the PD group. Five of them were upregulated and three of them were downregulated. There was no correlation between the levels of miRNA expression with PDSS total score and PDSS sub-items. However, miR-1297 and miR-4465 expression levels were significantly different between the two groups. LIMITATIONS: There are some limitations in this research. Firstly the number of samples is small. Another limitation of our study is that the presence of medical illness and continuous drug use were not excluded when PD and HC groups were selected. CONCLUSIONS: Our research is the first miRNA expression study in patients with PD which excluded psychotropic use and additional psychiatric disorders. In the PD group, miR-1297 and miR-4465 expression was upregulated than compared to the HC group. miR-1297 and miR-4465 regulate the GABAA gene regions that affect GABA(A) receptor subtypes that thought to play a role in the aetiology of PD.

Abstract
Levetiracetam has gained wide acceptance in the treatment of epilepsy due to its broad-spectrum efficacy, the lack of significant drug-drug interactions, and a relatively benign side effect profile. However, in recent years, the treatment of epilepsy using levetiracetam has been associated with psychiatric side effects such as anxiety, irritability, hostility, depression, hallucinations, and, in some rare cases, obsessive-compulsive disorder. In this case report, we present and discuss onset of obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms in a 55-year-old epileptic female patient, who did not have any previous psychiatric disorder, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, and who received levetiracetam treatment.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic disease that affects social relationships, and occupational and academic performance of patients and their relatives due to cognitive, emotional, and behavioural aspects of the disease. Quality of life (QoL) in relatives of patients with OCD has previously been reported and compared with caregivers of patients with other psychiatric conditions. However, there are few studies available in the literature regarding the causality of QoL in caregivers of patients with OCD.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate QoL of caregivers of patients with OCD and predictors of QoL of the family caregivers.
METHODS: The study population comprised of 68 patients with OCD and their caregivers. The dependent variable of this study is "QoL of caregivers" as assessed by the short version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF-TR). The Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV/Clinical Version (SCID-I/CV), Yale-Brown obsessive-compulsive scale (Y-BOCS), Y-BOCS symptom checklist, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D), and WHOQOL-BREF-TR were completed by the patients, whereas the SCID-I/CV, WHOQOL-BREF-TR, and Burden Assessment Scale (BAS) were completed by the caregivers. Student's t-test, MWU, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA, and Spearman's correlations were used in univariate analyses, and multiple linear regression tests were run in multivariate analyses. Critical VIF values were taken as 5.0 for detecting collinearity among independent variables in the regression analyses. Type 1 error was taken as 0.05 in the analyses.
RESULTS: Linear regression analysis showed that caregivers' sex, education level, occupational status, disease burden, and patients' sex, physical QoL, and disease severity were predictors of caregivers' QoL. Moreover, disease burden was the only common predictor that affected all four dimensions (physical, psychological, social relations, environmental) of the caregiver's QoL, and as the perceived disease burden increased, the caregiver's QoL deteriorated.

Abstract
Objective: In major depressive disorder, both during acute episode and in remission neurocognitive symptoms endure, but are underrated. The aim of this study is to demonstrate reliability and validity of the Turkish versions of Perceived Deficit Questionnaire-Depression (PDQ-D) and British Columbia Cognitive Complaints Inventory (BC-CCI) which are useful in the subjective assessment of neurocognitive symptoms in major depressive disorder. Methods: Turkish forms of the instruments are obtained after the translation and back-translation procedure. Thereafter, 50 in-or outpatients diagnosed with major depressive disorder, and 150 healthy volunteers for conducting the factor analyses and 68 healthy age- and education-matched controls for performing the group comparisons were included in the study. Beside the study instruments, Digital Symbol Substitution Test (DSST) used in the objective assessment of neurocognitive symptoms is applied. Results: The mean age of major depressive disorder group (n=50) was 37.5 +/- 11.4 and of healthy control group for the factor analyses was 23.4 +/- 5.5 and of that for the group comparisons was 35.4 +/- 9.9. Cronbach alpha coefficient of BC-CCI was 0.93 and item-total score correlation coefficients were between 0.69-0.85. Cronbach alpha coefficient of PDQ-D was 0.96 and item-total score correlation coefficients were between 0.52-0.91. In the factor analysis of both instruments, one factor solution was obtained. The correlation between BC-CCI and DSST was r=0.40, and for PDQ-D it was r=0.41. Both BC-CCI and PDQ-D significantly differentiated major depressive disorder group from healthy control groups. Conclusion: These results suggest that the Turkish forms of Perceived Deficit Questionnaire-Depression (PDQ-D) and British Columbia Cognitive Complaints Inventory (BC-CCI) are practical in the assessment of neurocognitive symptoms of major depressive disorder and can be used reliably and validly both in studies and in daily practice.

Abstract
Excessive daytime sleepiness, cataplexy, sleep paralysis, and hypnagogic hallucination are the classic tetrad of narcolepsy. It has been shown that narcolepsy, a chronic and disabling disease, starts in childhood and adolescence rather than adulthood. The International Classification of Sleep Disorder (ICSD-3) classifies narcolepsy into Type 1 (narcolepsy with cataplexy) and Type 2 (narcolepsy without cataplexy). There is low awareness and knowledge of narcolepsy among the general public, primary care physicians, and sleep specialists. It has been shown that the lack of recognition of disease symptoms delayed the diagnosis of narcolepsy from 8.7 to 22.1 years. In this case report, we will discuss the case of Type 1 narcolepsy, which started in the prepubertal period and was diagnosed and treated in a short period of time.

Abstract
The discovery of corticosteroids in 1949, revolutionized the practise of medicine. Corticosteroids become the mainstay of therapy for a variety of acute and chronic diseases (e.g., endocrinopathies, cancer, inflammatory diseases, systemical lupus erythematosus, multiple sklerosis, and asthma). Corticosteroids often induce psychiatric syndromes, including depression, mania, psychosis, delirium, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, suicidality, catatonia and reversible dementia(1). In our case, we will discuss 67 years old male patient who developed psychotic disorder after receiving systemic corticosteroid treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the attitudes of resident physicians working in a university hospital (future specialists) towards schizophrenia.
Methods: The data of 170 resident physicians who completed the questionnaires in full were included in the research. The data collection procedure was completed in 6 months by two resident psychiatrists using the sealed envelope method for the questionnaires (an 11-item socio-demographic and an 8-item professional information form and a 32-item attitude towards schizophrenia survey that was prepared by the Psychiatric Research and Training Center). The effect of the sociodemographic and occupational variables on the responses to the questionnaire items was tested using logistic regression analysis.
Results: The mean age of the participants was 28.07 +/- 2.40 (min=24-max=42) years. Approximately 98.8% (n=168) described schizophrenia as a 'disorder' and 78.2% (n=133) as a 'psychiatric disorder.' Some 64.1% (n=109) of the participants stated that schizophrenia was a congenital disease, 81.2% (n=138) said it was a curable disease, 85.9% (n=145) though that it could be treated with medication, 60% (n=102) believed that the medications used for treating schizophrenia would cause dependence, and 81.8% (n=139) stated that the medications used would involve serious adverse effects. Nearly 70.6% (n=120) of the participants stated that they could work with someone with schizophrenia and 45.9% (n=78) said that they could marry someone with schizophrenia. The presence of psychiatric diagnoses in a close friend (social acceptance of patients) was found to be an influential variable.
Conclusions: The resident physicians had high-level knowledge of schizophrenia as a psychiatric disorder, but their knowledge on the effects and adverse effects of the medication was insufficient or incorrect. The sample's social acceptance of patients was generally good, despite putting social distance in situations requiring more personal intimacy. Based on these results, to treat schizophrenia more successfully, we need to either revise psychiatry curriculum in medical education or provide targeted skill training for non-psychiatric physicians in order to adopt more positive attitudes towards patients with schizophrenia and refer them appropriately to psychiatrists when needed.

Abstract
Objective: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of the Clinician Rated Severity of Autism Spectrum and Social Communication Disorders Scale. The scale was originally developed to measure the severity of autism spectrum and social communication disorders regarding the DSM-5 criteria. Methods: The study was conducted in the Department of Psychiatry at Celal Bayar University Hospital. The participants were in- or out-patients diagnosed with any psychotic disorders according to DSM-5. The exclusion criteria were comorbidity of other psychiatric disorders and/or physical diseases. The study was carried out with a total of 49 patients who were diagnosed with schizophrenia (n=40), schizoaffective disorder (n=3), and not otherwise specified psychotic disorder (n=3). One hundred and one volunteers without any mental or physical disease were also included to represent the healthy control. Reliability analysis was performed to examine the internal consistency of the Turkish version of the scale. Additionally, item-total correlations were reported. In validity analyses, comparison of the total score of the scale in the patient and control groups was evaluated for the discriminative validity. ROC analysis was also performed. Results: 52.7% of the sample were male (n=79). 69.3% of them were graduated from university (n=104), 19.3% from high school (n=29), and 8% from elementary school (n=12). The mean age of the study group was 26.3 +/- 10.3 years. Disease duration of psychotic disorder group was 18,29 +/- 6.43 years. The internal consistency of the Autism Spectrum and Social Communication Disorder Scale was 0.81. Furthermore, item-total correlations revealed that all items in the scale contributed to the consistency of scores with item-total correlations approaching 0.70. The mean score of the scale in the patient group on the scale was 1.42 whereas the mean score of the healthy group was 0.0. The t-test analysis indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between the sample group and the healthy group in their scores on the scale. In the ROC analysis, the area under the curve was 0.84. Conclusion: Results demonstrated that the Turkish version of Autism Spectrum and Social Communication Disorder Scale was a valid and reliable instrument which may serve as useful in guiding future research that aims to understand autism spectrum and social communication disorder.

Abstract
Objective: Previous studies documented that there were a variety of endophenotypes that helped to diagnose as well as to predict functionality and treatment response. There is little, if any research that focused on investigating biochemical endophenotypes. Besides, the studies that include executive functions and social cognition, which were accepted as endophenotypes, have different results. In studies involving schizophrenia patients, the deficiency of oxytocin was found to be the most important hormone that would affect the treatment process. However, there have been no endophenotype studies that investigated the role of oxytocin hormone in the treatment process of schizophrenia patients. The purpose of the present study was twofold: (a) to detect new endophenotypes, and (b) to test endophenotypes that were previously found by focusing on the schizophrenia patients' mothers. Methods: The participants were the healthy mothers of schizophrenia patients and healthy control group. They took the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test, and Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale vocabulary subtest, respectively. In addition, participants' blood samples were collected to include the level of plasma oxytocin as a biochemical in the data analyses. Results: Results revealed that there was a significant difference in plasma oxytocin levels for the healthy mother's of schizophrenia patients and the healthy control group. Low level of plasma oxytocin level was found to be the only significant factor that differentiates the patients' mothers and the healty control group. When the results of the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test that measures executive functions, and the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test that measures social cognition were analyzed, no significant differences were found between the groups. Discussion: Our findings showed that oxytocin hormone could be a new endophenotype for schizophrenia. However, there is still a need for studies that focus on the investigation of detecting new endophenotypes.

Abstract
Objective: This study aims to demonstrate the reliability and validity of the Turkish Form of Level 2 Anxiety Scale developed according to DSM-5 criteria to measure the severity of panic disorder. Methods: This study was carried out with patients with a diagnosis of any anxiety disorder according to DSM-5 criteria who are under treatment in Celal Bayar University Faculty of Medicine Psychiatry inpatient or outpatient clinics. Patients with any mental or physical disease except for anxiety disorders were excluded. Accordingly, 54 patients with anxiety disorder were included in the study and these were distributed as panic disorder in seven patients, generalized anxiety disorder in two patients, agoraphobia in three patients, specific phobia in one patient, obsessive-compulsive disorder in two patients, somatization disorder in one patient and not otherwise specified anxiety disorder in 38 patients. As the healthy control group in 104 volunteers without any mental or physical disease were included. Beside Level 2 Anxiety Scale the most widely used self-rated scale, Spielberger's State-Trait Anxiety Inventory was used for concurrent validity. In reliability analysis internal consistency coefficient and item-total correlation analysis; in validity analyses factor analysis and correlation analysis with the Spearman Correlation Analysis (SCA) was performed for validation. Results: The mean age of the study group was 28.23 +/- 11.7 years and 58.9% of the sample group (n=93) were female. 64.6% of the group were college graduates, 19.0% primary school graduates, 12.7% is also high school graduates. Disease duration of anxiety disorder group was 17.2 +/- 11.2 years. The internal consistency of the Level 2 Anxiety Scale was 0.94 and, item-total correlation coefficients of the Level 2 Anxiety Scale were between 0.68 and 0.88. In the exploratory factor analysis, for sample adequacy Kaiser-Meier-Olkin (KMO) coefficient was calculated as 0.90 and Bartlett coefficient was 1.08. Single-factor solution was obtained and the eigenvalue was 5.26, explaining 75.2% of the total variance. Factor loadings of the items were between 0.75 and 0.92. Coefficient of correlation analysis with SCA was calculated as r=0.45. Conclusion: These findings have been shown that the Level 2 Anxiety Scale is reliable and valid for Turkish.

Abstract
Background:
Although excessive use of social networking site (SNS) is related to undesired effects on healthy individual's psychological well-being, there is a huge gap in studies performed with individuals who suffer from various mental disorders.
Aim:
The main goal of this study is to examine the association between problematic utilization of SNSs and depressive symptoms across patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD).
Methods:
111 patients diagnosed with MDD (diagnoses confirmed via the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5-Clinician Version (SCID-5/CV)) and 108 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited for the study. Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) and Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) were administered by both MDD and HC groups. Group comparisons were estimated with multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) analyses. To identify the relationship between SNS addiction and depressive symptoms, the Pearson correlations were performed, and finally, we computed the multiple linear regression analyses to determine whether SNS addiction predicts depressive symptoms.
Results:
The results revealed that MDD group is more addicted to SNS relative to HC. In addition, depressive symptoms were significantly predicted by 'relapse' subdimension and the overall score of SNS addiction in the MDD group.
Conclusion:
Our study illustrated the detrimental effects of excessive SNSs usage on depressive symptoms in MDD particularly for the individuals in 'relapse' state of SNS addiction. The mental health workers should consider the usage patterns of SNSs in patients diagnosed with MDD during their clinical observation and management.
